'Business as usual' in Wisconsin
It’s been “business as usual” at the Kings Wisconsin GO: Prepared English Program and Kings Premium University (KPU) Program with partner university, UWO-Fox Cities for Fall 2020.
The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh along with Fox Cities and Fond Du Lac campuses developed a comprehensive plan (Titans Return) for all students and staff to return to class both in-person and online without any interruption. Specifically, the Kings Wisconsin team has been available for students for in-person appointments as well as virtual appointments. Center Manager, Chihae Lee stated,
“The Kings Wisconsin team has made it a priority to make sure students both in Wisconsin and abroad felt they were still receiving the support and services to help them meet their future goals.”
New challenges for international students such as purchasing textbooks, internet connection, and time difference with classes prompted the quick initiatives of Kings Wisconsin. Campus Support/Housing Coordinator, Tirtha Gurung lead the charge in purchasing textbooks from the university bookstore and shipping them to students and scanning pages and emailing them to students so that they weren’t behind in their studies.
Progression Advisor, Kayla Johnson helped students contact university professors and IT services to make sure students were able to access lectures online as well as select classes that would work best with each student’s preference and location of study both in Wisconsin and abroad.
As the pandemic continues to affect the world, the team at Kings Wisconsin continues to serve students to ensure safety and deliver uninterrupted education to make sure students reach a top 100 university.
