Brighton festivals and events this autumn
Brighton is a lively and vibrant city with an incredibly diverse population. It hosts a huge range of festivals and events each year, which span the arts, sport and cuisine too.
Below are just a few of the things happening across the city this autumn.
Brighton Chocolate Festival
This 2-day festival is a must for any chocolate-lovers! Held on 12 – 13th October at Brighton's seafront Hilton Hotel, you will encounter a variety of chocolate-themed exhibitors, including award-winning chocolatiers and chocolate makers. Why not give your taste buds a treat!
Brighton and Hove triathlon
On Sunday 15 September 2019, Brighton and Hove will be hosting its fourth triathlon. This year 1,500 people are expected to take part, and whether you are involved as a participant, or as a spectator, there'll be a great atmosphere to enjoy!
Sunset wildlife cruise
Throughout the summer and autumn you can join the Brighton Dolphin Project on their sunset wildlife cruise to learn about some of the amazing marine wildlife in Brighton — you may even get to see some close-up.
There will be time to view seabirds and listen to underwater sounds, before taking in a unique view of Brighton's seafront as the sun sets (weather permitting!) behind the iconic West Pier and i360.
Street dance extravaganza: Diversity
The Brighton Centre is one of the city's principal arts and entertainment venues, which welcomes a huge variety of performers and shows. On 27th October, it will host hit UK dance act and winners of 'Britain's Got Talent', Diversity, who will be performing as part of their landmark 10 Year Anniversary Tour UK tour, 'Born Ready'. Street dance at its most energetic!
The Level Sunday market
Just opposite Kings Brighton is the vibrant Level park. One of the many events held here is the monthly Sunday market, which you can peruse for handmade goods, vintage wares, local fresh produce and delicious food.
Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition
Anyone who appreciates photography will want to pay a visit to the Brighton Museum and Art Gallery this autumn, which — until 8th September 2019 — is hosting an exhibition featuring awe-inspiring images of the natural world. The world-renowned exhibition, on loan from the Natural History Museum in London, features images of extraordinary animal behaviour to breath-taking landscapes — meaning you can enjoy seeing nature at its very best.
Ocean Film Festival
On 22nd October, the iconic Brighton Dome is the venue for the Ocean Film Festival World Tour. This carefully curated collection of short films features amazing footage from both above and below the water's surface, showcasing the power and beauty of our oceans — all via the big screen.
