Bath academic students enjoy an explosive visit to Bournemouth!
Summer school students on the Intensive Academic programme at Bath (Downside) Summer Centre enjoyed a memorable taster day at Kings Bournemouth.
The students were able to experience first-hand a selection of lessons as taught at a British secondary school.
In the Science department, they had the chance to take part in an experiment involving rocket explosions and blast off, marking that week’s 50th anniversary of the Apollo space mission. The Art & Design department showed them the art of building towers, and in the Maths department they learned about the logic puzzles of the Tower of Hanoi.
Once lessons were over, the group enjoyed a tour of Kings Bournemouth's year-round residences, which provide high quality accommodation for the school's academic students.
The day was rounded off with a refreshing ice-cream by Bournemouth's famous beach and pier, and some last-minute souvenir shopping — before a nap on the drive home back to Bath. An explosive time was had by all!
