This week's Hang-Out Monday took an exciting turn as Kings Boston embarked on an impromptu field trip to the Massachusetts State House.
"Our adventure began in Memorial Hall, where we admired paintings depicting significant moments in history, such as early colonists preaching to Native Americans, soldiers in the American Revolution, and veterans returning flags from the Civil War.
Next, we moved to the House of Representatives, where we spotted the famous sculpture of the Sacred Cod hanging in the background. This rather eccentric good luck charm for our legislature was the victim of a "codnapping" almost 100 years ago but fortunately reappeared under mysterious circumstances.
The tour concluded in the Great Hall, which proudly displays the flag of every town in Massachusetts. To cap off our perfect Boston day, we headed to Dunkin' Donuts for some delicious treats and great conversations.
Exploring the Massachusetts State House was a fantastic way to immerse ourselves in the rich history and culture of our state. We can't wait for the next adventure on Hang-Out Monday!"
