This past weekend, Kings New York students embarked on an exciting trip to the iconic Niagara Falls in upstate New York.
The journey began at 11 PM on Friday as the students departed from the heart of New York City, Times Square, for a 7.5-hour bus ride to Niagara Falls State Park. Filled with excitement, they captured the NYC skyline one last time before resting up for the adventure ahead.
We arrived in Buffalo, New York, at 7 AM, just in time for a quick bite at the Canadian food chain Tim Hortons. Full of coffee, pastries, and breakfast sandwiches, we headed straight for the rapids and falls at the famous Niagara Falls State Park. Our tour guide provided a brief tour of the park, explaining its history and the surrounding rivers and Great Lakes.
The students were engaged and excited as we approached the opening of the falls. They were awestruck as they gazed upon its grandeur. They took photos, polaroids, and videos, standing by the falls to fully appreciate its splendor before being ushered to the next activity.
Lining up for the state park's main attraction, the Maid of the Mist, the students buzzed with joy and anticipation. The tour boat brought us to the base of all three falls, allowing us to take in the beauty of the smaller falls before heading to the largest one. Here, the meaning of the activity became clear, as strong gusts of wind and mist showered the students!
We explored more of the park, walking to another viewpoint near the base of the falls and atop the falls surrounding Turtle Island.
The students enjoyed some free time to explore the grounds before we headed back to New York City with tired eyes, but unforgettable memories captured in our phones and hearts.
