Kings New York students recently enjoyed a fantastic weekend trip to Tarrytown, a great place to see some beautiful autumn colors, and of course the backdrop to the legend of Sleepy Hollow.
We drove up on a beautiful Friday afternoon after a morning of learning, headed for an apple orchard. Wandering through rows of trees loaded with ripe, crisp apples, we filled our bags while sneaking a few bites along the way.
The cool fall air and vibrant autumn colors made it even better, and searching for the juiciest, reddest apples felt like a treasure hunt. Plus, the sweet reward of fresh cider at the end was the perfect finish to a fun day!
Tarrytown at Halloween is pure magic. The historic village transforms with spooky decorations, ghost tours, and pumpkin-lined streets, bringing to life the legend of the Headless Horseman.
We went to haunted attractions like Sleepy Hollow Cemetery and the eerie Old Dutch Church, where chilling tales of Washington Irving's famous story come alive. With glowing jack-o'-lanterns, and costumed revelers everywhere, Tarrytown in October is the perfect blend of history and Halloween charm. It’s a must-see for anyone craving that classic spooky season vibe!
