A day trip to Madison for Kings Wisconsin students

November was the perfect time for students at Kings Wisconsin to visit Madison, the capital of the state of Wisconsin and home to the University of Wisconsin.

Students on the Kings Premium University (KPU) program, GO: Prepared Academic English program, and Intensive English Program all went on the trip.

First semester KPU student, Aika Akagi from Japan, stated:

“I knew the name of the university (UW-Madison), but I didn’t know how big it was, so it was great to see the university up close! Madison is one of the biggest cities in Wisconsin, but there is also a lake nearby and the university is very open, which makes me long to study there.”

She really enjoyed her first time in Madison and all the delicious foods and was amazed by the specialty cheese stores. The state of Wisconsin produces 600 varieties of cheese with over 1,000,000 cows living in Wisconsin!

Center Manager, Chihae Lee, was able to meet up with Kings Wisconsin alums who successfully transferred to UW-Madison (#42) from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. Kuan-Fu “Aaron” Chen (Taiwan), Donghwan Kim (S. Korea), and Kentaro Takahashi (Japan) all chatted with her about studying in Madison.

Intensive English Program students from Panama enjoyed their first-time visiting Madison and even represented their country with their country’s flag to take a photo with in front of Bascom Hall, which sits at the top of College Hill directly across from the State Capitol building of Wisconsin.

Kings Wisconsin wishes all students the best of luck with their studies for the remainder of the Fall 2021 semester!
