Volunteering at Cradles to Crayons Boston
18 April, 2019
Kings Boston students regularly take part in volunteering in the local community. Student Sheida Franco reports on one group's afternoon helping out at Cradles to Crayons Boston, a non-profit organization which helps homeless and low-income children.
Volunteering is an activity to help people, which provides personal satisfaction and is rewarding.
At Kings Boston, we carry out a volunteer activity in Cradles to Crayons Boston, whose mission is to provide children with all the essentials they need to thrive, at home, at school and playing. Cradles to Crayons has a general vision, a future free of child poverty, which inspires their work every day.
Our group of students' job was sorting books — to verify that the books were in good condition and then separate them into groups of five. Together we ordered a total of 1,500 books.
We are very satisfied and happy to have had participated in this volunteer activity.
