The role will support Kings ‘Global Opportunities’ objectives to increase:

  • student recruitment to and across Kings Colleges in the UK, Kings Premium Universities in the USA and to and from Kings Partner Schools (KPS) in global locations by developing attractive university progression opportunities

The International University Relationships Manager will be responsible for:

  • The development of university articulation agreements, in the UK, US and key global destinations (including but not restricted to Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Europe, Dubai) to contribute to the achievement of student recruitment objectives

The areas of responsibility will include the recognition, acceptance and conditional letters of acceptance (CLA) from Kings Foundation programmes and other international progression arrangements from other programmes such as Kings US High School Diploma programmes. The post holder will also work closely with Kings UK Operations Administration Manager and UK, US and KPS Product Directors.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Build positive and productive relationships with universities and specialist HE institutions
  • Develop existing and new university relationships to increase targeted articulation and CLA agreements (e.g. Russell Group/top ranked universities and specialists in key subject areas such as Medicine), liaising with academic colleagues as appropriate to further these relationships
  • Contribute to the marketing of university progression opportunities to students, parents, agents and partners in close liaison with Product Directors and to increase student recruitment
  • Identify opportunities for selected universities to contribute to Kings recruitment activities i.e. leveraging university progression routes to increase student recruitment to Kings
  • Support training for Kings recruitment team, KPS centres, agents and partners
  • Contribute to the support of Kings UCAS Advisors and Student Success Advisors at all Kings centres, including Kings Partner Schools, in their understanding of progression opportunities and processes to universities in the UK, US, globally (including progression across Kings product areas and universities local to Kings Partner Schools).
  • Contribute to the development of processes to monitor and record students’ university applications and outcomes including the use and development of Kings CRM (Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Develop statistical data from the monitoring students’ university offers and progression to all international destinations
  • Identify and contribute to the development of progression and recruitment opportunities to Kings from international schools and other organisations
  • Monitor competitor activities, build knowledge base and contribute to the identification and messaging of Kings KSPs in relation to university progression
  • Represent Kings and opportunities Kings and KPS provide with appropriate professionalism
  • Promote the values and ethos of Kings at all times

Person Specification

The successful candidate will offer a robust combination of drive, experience and personal qualities which can translate vision and understanding into realistic strategies, good decisions, the development of successful working relationships, broaden student progression opportunities and increase student recruitment.

The strongest candidates will:

  • Possess and promote a passion for education and strong background in the marketing of and recruitment to preparatory programmes for international students to gain undergraduate entry to leading universities in the USA and UK
  • Have a strong understanding of US and UK education systems, particularly at Senior High School and Undergraduate levels and a broader understanding of other key student destination markets
  • Be detail and process orientated, thrive on working to deadlines and achieving clearly defined KPIs, able to take the initiative, working effectively both independently and as a team-player
  • Have very strong commercial awareness, particularly in international student recruitment and in the establishment and development of relationships with partner institutions and articulation agreements and operations
  • Be supportive and motivational leaders and influencers with excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrate good judgement, problem-solving skills, emotional and cultural empathy and intelligence, integrity, resilience, flexibility, energy, authority and a good sense of humour
