Role description

You will be working as a member of the finance administration team, responsible to the Finance Manager and assisting with day to day running of the finance office.

Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will focus on all aspects of finance relating to operations of the College.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful applicant for this post will be expected to:

  • Student debt management (credit control)
  • Bank activity processing and reconciliation
  • Handling cash and credit card sales with reconciliation
  • Processing purchase ledger including support with prepayments and accruals
  • Preparing supplier, commission and host family payments
  • Processing journals where required
  • Maintain Fixed Asset register with depreciation
  • Maintain supporting records as required (i.e. utilities spreadsheet)
  • Support with payroll processing
  • Support with budget monitoring and cost analysis
  • Month end/year end duties as required
  • General office administration including answering telephone calls, emails, filing and photocopying
  • Liaising with
    • Students, parents, suppliers, agents where required
    • Colleagues where required
    • Any other duties as required

Professional experience:

  • Accountancy experience in a commercial or professional work environment
  • A minimum of one year’s line management experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products
  • Familiarity with general ledger software packages (preferred)
