The EFL Coordinator works closely with the EFL Director of Studies (line manager) and Senior Teacher to ensure the smooth daily running of departmental operational activities and EFL programmes.
The EFL Coordinator supports the teaching team, coordinates, and supervises any administrative cover. The work involves a good deal of student, teacher and agent/sponsor customer service and office management skills. The EFL Coordinator will supervise and monitor the administrative work of teachers and develop ideas to make existing processes more effective and efficient. This role requires judgement and imagination in dealing with individuals and solving problems, and is invested in the big picture and in explaining processes to teachers and other staff, and in developing and streamlining the efficiency of processes. As this is a job share role, the ability to communicate and work as a team player is paramount.
The EFL Coordinator also manages educational visits and teachers who act as visit leaders ensuring compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Front desk duties including answering the phone, emails and dealing with student enquiries.
- Student intake, admin related to placement and classing
- Attendance tracking
- Teacher administration, for example, helping with and training teachers on routine duties such as reports, scanning work, registers, use of iSams and Class.
- Student Administration, such as processing student holiday requests, managing student bookings on Class, meeting agents, coordinating student surveys, etc.
- Educational Visits Coordination – preparing all paperwork and risk assessments, recording any incidents, evaluating visits, ensuring compliance

Strong candidates for this post are likely to be efficient administrators and imaginative problem-solvers with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work with a range of people calmly and with good humour.
Desirable
- CELTA/Trinity Cert TESOL qualification
It would be desirable, though not essential, to be able to cover teach in case of sickness, for which a CELTA/Trinity Cert TESOL would be required.
