Post 4: Teacher of Chemistry (Year 9, GCSE and A-Level)

Post 5: Teacher of Humanities, Geography, Communication and Study Skills (Years 7, 8, 9, GCSE and Kings Advanced Level Foundation)

Post 6: Teacher of Mathematics (A-Level and Kings Advanced Level Foundation)

Post 7: Teacher of Physics (A-Level and Kings Advanced Level Foundation)

Post 8: Teacher of Science (Years 7, 8, 9 and Biology GCSE)

Duties and responsibilities

  • Preparing and teaching lessons in line with curriculum and schemes of work to ensure pupils/students learn as effectively as possible
  • Working to create a learning culture that encourages and helps students to study with curiosity, pleasure and the experience of success
  • Paying attention to the whole-person development of your students, their health, morale, demeanour and general welfare, particularly as they learn to prepare for further studies in a new language and new culture
  • Setting and marking of appropriate homework and projects; providing prompt, appropriate, consistent and constructive marking and guidance for improvement
  • Maintaining student records; attendance, punctuality, achievements, grades, progress reports as required
  • Being aware of responsibilities with regards to the safety of students and the provision of a safe and nurturing environment for them in the Centre
  • Ensuring adherence to local compliance requirements, centre policies and procedures and those of our partners and external awarding bodies
  • Maintaining and developing positive working relationships between Kings, our host school partners and other stakeholders

Person specification

Applicants must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Have excellent academic qualifications and good subject knowledge
  • Good understanding of the UK education system
  • Be adept at producing and sharing teaching resources
  • Be capable of delivering dynamic and effective lessons to the full age and ability range of our pupils and students
  • Be an innovative classroom teacher capable of developing ideas and concepts through discussions, experimentation and investigations
  • Have a highly effective communication skills for dealing with pupils, students, and parents of different cultural background
  • Have a willingness to engage with CPD
