The Kings Science and Engineering Foundation is a uniquely rigorous one-year pre-university programme.

It is based on A-levels and recognised by the broadest range of quality UK universities.

This course is for:
  • Academically strong students who want to study a science or engineering related degree at a UK university.
  • Students who have completed 11 or 12 years of school in their home country (at least GCSE equivalent).

  • Academic: Successful completion of at least 11 or 12 years of schooling (at least GCSE equivalent) 
  • English language: Minimum IELTS 5.5 or equivalent level
  • Minimum age: 16.5

Start dates

  • September and January


  • Average 21 hours per week, plus homework and private study 


  • 1 academic year (3 terms)

  • Raise English to university level
  • Develop study skills required at degree level 
  • Develop specialist subject expertise

You will study Mathematics and two of Physics, Biology and Chemistry plus the ‘Core’ Communication & Study Skills and Data Handling & Statistics Modules.
