Funding

Pricelist for Erasmus Plus-funded applicants | Enrolment form for Erasmus Plus-funded applicants

Erasmus+ logo

What is Erasmus+ Funding?

The European Commission Erasmus+ programme has been funding EU Teachers to follow a range of developmental activities abroad since 2014, with a view to improving the quality of teaching and learning at all school levels across Europe. Erasmus+ funding allows teachers from other countries in the European Union to take part in structured Teacher Training courses at Kings Education and other overseas providers.

The deadline for 2017 applications has now been confirmed as 12pm CET on 2 February 2017. The Erasmus+ Funding Programme will run until 2020.

Who is eligible for Erasmus+ funding?

All teachers working for public or private schools, colleges or educational institutes in EU member states (also Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Turkey) are eligible for Erasmus+ funding. However, individuals themselves cannot apply; applications must be made by the institution which employs them. Institutions can also make applications for closed groups of employees.

How do I apply for funding?

Individual teachers must speak to their institution about applying for funding on their behalf. If the institution has applied before, there may be a Funding Coordinator. If not, your institution will need to register online with the European Commission and then submit an application for funding for 1 or 2 years.

If you are not sure if your institution is eligible, you should contact your National Agency. Your National Agency may also be able to advise you on completing the application form, but if you need further advice on funding, we may be able to direct you to an experienced partner in your country.

What happens next?

The application needs to be submitted by 12pm CET on 2 February. Once you have submitted your application, you should contact Kings to check course dates and availability and make a provisional booking. You will not have to pay a deposit at that stage. Your institution should be informed about the success of their application in late April/early May. You should contact Kings to confirm your place as soon as your funding is confirmed. If your institution's application is unsuccessful, Kings can still accept your application if you are self-funding.

What does the funding cover?

The funding provides a budget for the course itself, as well as the related expenses of travel to the UK, accommodation and day to day living costs, such as food.
