Kings Brighton officially opens!

5 September, 2017

On Friday 1st September 2017, Kings Brighton was officially opened at a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by staff and some of our top agents.

The previous day, we had invited the agents up the i360 viewing tower at Brighton seafront. None of them had yet visited the school, so it was great to point its location out from high above the city, along with its proximity to the main landmarks, before the 'big reveal' the following day.

At 11 o'clock on Friday, Kings Director Nigel Pamplin cut the purple ribbon, officially opening the school. Director Andrew Green then introduced agents to the ideas behind Kings Brighton:

"This is the first school we have built from scratch and it has been a fantastic opportunity to do exactly what we wanted — create a top quality learning centre in the heart of Brighton that is strongly connected with local community and businesses, welcoming to our local and international students, and with a low environmental impact."

Agents were then given a tour of the new school building. The two top floors of Kings Brighton are student accommodation, providing on-site single en-suite residential accommodation. In the basement, a cafeteria serves freshly prepared meals every day.

We also work with selected households across town, who provide homestay accommodation to students who prefer to stay with a local family.

The school has been open since June and already has a thriving student community, so — although it was unusual to cut the ribbon two months after our first students arrived — agents experienced a live learning environment, which is what we are most proud of.

Kings Brighton is an English language school and a Sixth Form College. In a couple of weeks we will welcome our first GCSE, A-level and Foundation students and we are sure that next August we'll be celebrating their great results as well as Kings Brighton's first birthday!
